Ronald Williams, Jr, PhD, CHES, currently serves as an associate professor of health education in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Texas State University. Considered an expert in social ecology of health, he has extensively researched issues in substance abuse prevention, primary healthcare, and health policy implications. Dr. Williams has been awarded multiple community health grants and contracts totaling over $1.9 million and published over 35 peer-reviewed manuscripts. His research has been featured leading journals including the Journal of Primary Prevention, Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs, Substance Use and Misuse, and American Journal of Health Education. He has presented his research at dozens of national and international research conferences including the American Public Health Association, Society for Public Health Education, and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine. He has also served as an evaluation consultant for the U.S. Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.
