Nicole Vollum (she/her) serves as the Interim University Librarian in the UWS Library. She is responsible for understanding and providing appropriate resources for the information needs of all academic programs. She oversees information literacy programming and ensures that the library is a key asset in faculty development and student attraction and retention. Nicole acts as a liaison to the library, engaging and collaborating with entities across UWS to increase and improve the library’s facilitation of scholarly and educational goals both on campus and online. Prior to this position, she served as Reference Instruction & Outreach Librarian at UWS.
With a background in biomedical sciences and medical technology research, Nicole is always excited to learn about new health topics while facilitating research and teaching new information mastery skills to the UWS community. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science with a minor in Chemistry from Portland State University, a Master of Arts (MA) in Science and Technology Studies from the Technical University of Munich, and a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Arizona.
