Dr. Williams teaches in the Basic Sciences Department in the College of Chiropractic at UWS. She earned her PhD in molecular microbiology and immunology in 2006 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University in 2008. She joined UWS in 2010 and teaches cell and molecular biology, metabolism, nutrition, physiology, and pathology. Dr. Williams is a certified team-based learning trainer-consultant and frequently engages in professional development and training opportunities. Dr. Williams leads the community of research practice at UWS to support peers and students in developing research ideas. Dr. Williams’ research interests are to explore student perceptions about how aspects of a quality learning environment can enhance metacognitive and self-regulated learning skills and evaluative judgement toward promoting professionalism and interprofessional collaboration. Dr. Williams enjoys hiking, camping, and cooking colorful meals for her family.
