Professor Jess Schmidt holds an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox university and a BS from Oregon State University in Human Development and Family Sciences. She is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon working in private practice. She specializes in working with adolescents and individuals who have experienced trauma. She is trained and has earned a certificate in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Jess has experience with children and families involved in the Child Welfare system, having worked as a case worker in both Permanency and Child Protective Services.
She has experience in teaching and course writing for a variety of courses including Human Growth and Development, Group Counseling, Ethics, Human Sexuality and Business Basics for Clinicians and Consultants.
