Dr. Hilary Andrews, ND

Dr. Hilary Andrews is a distinguished faculty member at the University of Western States, bringing over two decades of experience as a naturopathic physician. She is currently teaching the three-term series in Clinical, Physical, Laboratory Diagnosis, a critical component of the naturopathic medicine curriculum that immerses students in a virtual doctor's office, fostering their growth into competent, compassionate physicians.

Dr. Andrews earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Calgary and her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from National University of Natural Medicine. She has a rich history of integrating clinical practice with academic instruction, having co-taught courses such as Microbiology and Public Health at her alma mater. Her innovative approach to teaching translates complex medical concepts into clinically relevant content, encouraging students to think critically and engage deeply with the material.

In addition to her teaching roles, Dr. Andrews has been a prominent figure in the naturopathic community. She has served in leadership positions within professional organizations, including being a member of the House of Delegates for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and contributing to public health initiatives as a representative for the Oregon Health Authority. Dr. Andrews has played a key role in advancing naturopathic education through curriculum development and course design. Her dedication to student-centered education is evident in her detailed feedback and support, helping students connect with resources that enhance their learning experience.

Dr. Andrews is committed to staying at the forefront of medical research and clinical practices, continuously updating her knowledge to provide students with the most current information. Outside the classroom, Dr. Andrews has extensive experience in vaccine consultation, including designing and implementing vaccination protocols and educating patients on immunization benefits and safety. Her laboratory work with Labrix and Doctor's Data, where she specialized in advanced clinical diagnostics and integrative medical testing, alongside her expertise in thermal imaging through Iris Thermography for early disease detection, contribute to a comprehensive understanding of public health and preventive medicine. Additionally, her years in private practice have equipped her with a practical and patient-centered approach to care. She is enthusiastic about bringing this well-rounded and practical perspective to her students in the CPLD course, ensuring they receive a holistic and hands-on education.
