Ericha Clare, ND, LAc, IFMCP is a naturopathic physician, acupuncturist and an IFM-Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (IFMCP). Here at UWS, she teaches functional medicine principles in the Masters in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine and also in the Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine programs. She enjoys helping students of various levels contextualize the functional medicine approach and mindset within the field of health and wellness they are focused.
Dr, Clare has accumulated over ten years of experience as a formal educator and curriculum developer of medical science coursework at three institutions in both undergraduate and graduate programs. She has taught in-person and online and designed projects for students to experience Service Learning, Collaborative Learning and Outcomes-based Learning. She took the lead in synthesizing and delivering curriculum from collaborating colleges and community partners to create a new program in patient navigation and advocacy. As a medical subject matter expert, she has reviewed several medical textbook editions for publication and facilitated articulation of college curriculum with advanced secondary vocational programs. She has also tutored peers in biochemistry, has guest lectured on various health topics to graduate students and community college nutrition classes, and has offered healthy cooking demonstrations to the public.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Clare offers a unique blend of naturopathic and functional medicine expertise, integrating eastern and western medical philosophies to address complex health issues. She also loves to include acupuncture, either as a stand-alone treatment or to augment any health plan, as it is a modality which helps the body to self-regulate and find balance.
With a focus on aging well, her passion lies in promoting resilience, vitality, and independence in her patients. Dr. Clare empowers individuals to achieve wellness through a deeper understanding of body function as well as the science behind various treatment strategies. By teaching patients holistic nutrition and lifestyle practices, she aims to engender patients' connection to and trust in their body's innate healing wisdom and abilities.
