Biography

Hey there! I'm Dr. Dan, and I'm your research professor and Doctoral Capstone Coordinator for the UWS OTD program. I am here to serve your didactic, research, and capstone needs every step of the way, whether you're an occupational therapy student, or a student of any other program.

My academic focus and passion is health scientific quantitative research methodology (specifically machine learning, psychometrics and Bayesian analysis), and my terminal research doctorate is in Health Science from the University of St. Augustine. I have numerous scientific journal publications and presentations as both primary and supervising investigator in the fields of occupational therapy regulation, psychometrics (mental health; esports), pelvic health, post-partum depression, pediatric assistive technology, animal assisted therapy, and more; I also serve as a scientific reviewer for HomeCare Now, an academic medico-rehabilitation science journal for home health practice. Previous to academia, I spent most of my career in administrative and regulatory positions; I am the ex-Chairman of the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Practice (2016-2024) and served on multiple expert panels for NBCOT practice analysis, state leadership and product development. I also own my own data analysis LLC (Precision Data Analytics for Health Science), which I use to serve academicians, students and professionals out in the community.
