Dr. Williams teaches in the Basic Sciences Department in the College of Chiropractic at UWS. She earned her PhD in molecular microbiology and immunology from Oregon Health Sciences University. She joined UWS in 2010 and teaches cell and molecular architecture, metabolism, nutrition, and function and disease. Dr. Williams is a certified team-based learning trainer-consultant and frequently engages in professional development and training opportunities. Dr. Williams leads the community of research and scholarly practice and chairs the faculty development committee at UWS. Dr. Williams' research interests are to explore student perceptions about how a quality learning environment may enhance metacognitive and self-regulated learning skills and evaluative judgement toward promoting professionalism and interprofessional collaboration. Dr. Williams enjoys hiking, camping, and cooking colorful meals for her family.
