Dr. Peter Vuky is a chiropractic physician at the University of Western States Health Center. As a clinical educator, he provides patient care in combination with mentoring chiropractic interns as they work toward their goal of earning a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

An Oregonian for more than 40 years, Dr. Vuky’s family was part of the first wave of immigrants to come to Oregon from Vietnam in the 1970’s. Dr. Vuky grew up both in Portland and Beaverton and graduated from Lewis and Clarke College. After hearing about the chiropractic field from a local chiropractic physician, Dr. Vuky went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from University of Western States.

Before coming back to teach at his alma mater, Dr. Vuky owned and operated a private practice for 19 years. In that time, he served a great diversity of patients, including many from the Vietnamese and broader Asian American community. In 2019, Dr. Vuky followed his passion for mentorship, teaching, and helping those who are underserved in health care by joining the faculty at UWS.

Dr. Vuky’s chiropractic interests include family practice, injury and rehabilitation care. He believes chiropractic care can be a tool for preventative medicine and can decrease reliance on prescription drugs. Dr. Vuky is happy to see greater diversity in the students who are studying chiropractic medicine and hopes more students will consider the profession, especially those who are empathetic, kind, and want to help their communities.

Dr. Vuky serves on the UWS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and a subcommittee for the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners (OBCE). Outside of work, Dr. Vuky enjoys playing tennis and chess; he is an avid Portland Trailblazers fan.
