I’m just a coffee-loving, adventure-seeking, cat lady from Michigan. I like rock music, getting lost in the mountains, surfing, and of course, I love chiropractic!

Why did you choose UWS? Why did you choose your program/concentration? I’m so proud of this school – I knew it had the reputation of excellence, but I had no idea what opportunities it would provide me.

What has been your favorite class/instructor? I have really enjoyed phasing into the clinic and developing my skills as a clinician. As for a favorite instructor, who could possibly imagine attending this school without Jim Carollo teaching neuroanatomy? Or Dr. Borman’s attention to detail in the cadaver lab? Jaime Gallegos teaching her very first class? And (Uncle) Gary Schultz? I have never attended a university where I’d even met the dean, let alone have lunch with the president. All of my instructors have a place in my heart.

What is your favorite part about attending UWS as a student? The faculty, the view of Mt. Hood and St. Helens, and the kindness and support of the staff. You can really tell the amount of effort that goes on behind the scenes to make this experience for us students as amazing as it is.

What has been the most surprising part of attending UWS? How much I’ve changed and continue to become a better clinician.

What do you hope to do after graduation? I honestly don’t know yet – coming from a state with one of the smallest scopes of practice, I had no idea what opportunity there was in the world for me until I came to school at UWS. My life has truly changed.

Wild Card: Favorite thing about Portland? It has a lot of opportunities to be active and get out of the library. Many of my classmates are so talented – they sing, they teach dance, they remodel homes… I think it’s really important to feel involved in the community while you’re in graduate school and Portland offers just that.
