2024-2025 Tuition and Cost of Attendance Details – Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine

This page provides details on what you may expect to pay for each academic period of your student career while you’re in the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (NMD) program at UWS. This includes UWS direct costs of attendance for tuition and fees, as well as estimated indirect costs of attendance for living expenses.

Admission to the university includes a $50 application fee and a $300 tuition deposit to secure a seat in the desired entering class. Both fees are one-time and non-refundable. The tuition deposit is applied to the first term of tuition and not required if tuition deposit was already paid due to concurrent enrollment in the doctor of chiropractic program.

Direct Costs of Attendance

Tuition and fees are direct costs charged by the university and due on or before the first day of the term. The Board of Trustees of University of Western States reserves the right to modify the tuition and fees at any time. Tuition

The NMD program is 14 quarters (terms) long with a flat rate of tuition per term based on a course schedule above 19 credits per term.

Program Flat Rate: $10,485
Per Credit Hour: $552

Required Fees

When a student is concurrently enrolled in more than one UWS academic program, some fees may be assessed only once.

Enrollment Fee: $50 per term. Supports admissions and enrollment functions.
Laboratory Fee: $190 per term. Supports various lab and clinical experiences.
Student Services Fee: $50 per term. Supports tutoring, counseling, exam proctoring and student activities.
Technology Fee: $75 per term. Supports hardware and infrastructure enhancements to technology/audio visual.

Parking and Transportation

Parking permits are required for all regular full and part time students parking on the UWS campus. Parking permits are not required for bicycles, motorcycles/scooters using designated spaces, or for those who walk or use public transportation. Chiropractic students are not charged for parking in their final term of enrollment. Further parking and transportation information is available here.

Term Parking Permit: $35 per vehicle parked on UWS campus each term.
Daily Parking Permit: $5 per vehicle parked on UWS campus each day.
Public transportation single trip tickets: $2.50 per one ride.

Additional Fees/Fines

Additional fees are incurred on an individual basis, dependent upon each student’s specific needs, and are charged at the time they are incurred.

Deferment of Tuition Payment: $30 per term.
Returned Checks: $35 per each returned check.
Student ID/Key Card Replacement: $10 per each item.
Diploma Replacement: $50 per diploma.
Late Payment Fee on Past Due Accounts: $50 per occurrence.
Printing Fee (black and white): $0.10 per page – printing on campus in excess of 100 pages per term.
Printing Fee (color): $0.30 per page – printing on campus in excess of 100 pages per term.
Parking Fine: $25 for vehicles parked improperly, in prohibited areas or without valid permit.
Parking Fine: $50 for street parking, careless driving or in disabled parking without valid permit.
Library Lost Materials: $25 + replacement cost for replacement of lost materials.
Library Lost Materials (out of print): $150 – if no replacement exists for lost materials a flat fee is assessed.
